Solana Perp DEXs in 2026: Jupiter, Drift and the Contenders

Solana is home to one of the most active clusters of perpetual DEXs outside of the app-chain venues. Between a large pool-based venue, several order books and a wave of newer entrants, a trader on Solana has real choice. Here is how the main ones differ.

Jupiter is the heavyweight. It started as Solana's dominant DEX aggregator and its perps run on a liquidity-pool model, where you borrow from the JLP pool rather than trade against an order book. That means there is no maker or taker distinction: everyone pays a flat fee on open and close, plus borrow and price-impact costs. It is simple and deep, and it is backed by the reach of the Jupiter brand and its recurring token airdrops.

Drift takes the order-book approach, run through Drift Labs by Cindy Leow and David Lu, and has long been one of the most feature-rich Solana venues. One important note for 2026: Drift has relaunched under the Velocity brand, and its documentation moved with it, so if you traded it as Drift it is worth confirming you are on the current site before sending funds. Always reach a venue through its own verified links.

Below the two leaders sit a set of order-book venues competing on execution and cost. Pacifica runs a Solana CLOB with a low fee schedule and a pre-token points program, which keeps farming interest high. Phoenix is a fully on-chain order book. Both are smaller than Jupiter and Drift by volume but are worth watching. Compare them side by side on the live rankings.

The reason Solana attracts this many perp venues is the chain itself: fast blocks and low fees make an on-chain order book practical in a way that is harder on slower chains. That is also why several of these venues can offer very low or zero trading fees and still function, since the settlement cost is minimal.

For a trader, the choice usually comes down to model and depth. Pool-based Jupiter is straightforward and liquid for majors; the order-book venues give finer control on price and are often cheaper on fees. Weigh funding and depth alongside the headline fee, and check the no-token watch if you are farming a possible airdrop.

None of this is financial advice. Perpetual futures are high risk and leverage can liquidate your position. Confirm every venue through its official links and verify the numbers before trading.
